Nursing Simulation Labs Come to Regional Centers

Human patient simulation provides interactive, life-sized mannequins that replicate real human functions, allowing nursing students to gain experience before they work in a hospital setting. Students put their classroom learning into action while dealing with the psychosocial elements of nurse-patient interaction. They are able to experiment on the simulator before implementing their ideas and theories on a human patient. Then students watch a recording of the session in order to better understand what they did right and what needs to be fixed.

Celebrate Christmas, an APU tradition for more than 20 years, kicked off the evening of Friday, December 3, 2010. Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena decked its halls with Christmas cheer in honor of the concert series. Members of the APU Chamber Singers dressed in Dickens costumes and charmed audience members with Christmas carols in the lobby while members of Men’s Chorale served as valets, and the ladies of Bel Canto Women’s Choir welcomed concertgoers into the sanctuary.
Senior Art Shows Display Creativity and Artistic Growth

From November 15-24, Caroline Craner and Molly Gardner, two senior art majors, hosted art exhibits composed of their own work in the Heritage and Duke Art Galleries. The exhibits, which are required of all graduating art majors, serve as a culmination of their undergraduate education and display the skills they have gained from their time at APU.
