Today's students are passionate about social justice issues, including world hunger. In pursuit of expanding awareness regarding issues of national and global concerns, APU welcomed Ambassador Tony Hall, a leading advocate for hunger and relief programs to improve human rights conditions in the world, to kick off the university's Justice Week.

APU Honors Veterans

APU's Office of Alumni Relations and Department of Veterans Affairs co-sponsored the 7th annual Veterans Day Luncheon on Monday, November 12. Attended by veterans who served as far back as World War II, the luncheon offered participants the opportunity to honor military service men and women, and to remember those who gave their lives for this nation.

Sarah turns 15 years old today. She looks forward to a few presents, some well-wishes from her friends at school, and maybe some birthday cake. She feels officially like a young woman, hoping for and dreaming of a promising future. But she has a 1 in 10 chance of surviving to her 35 birthday. Sarah is HIV positive. And so is 36.8 percent of her nation’s population.

APU Employees Enjoy Luau, Family-Style

On Thursday, June 7, members and guests of the APU community had fun in the sun at the annual APU Employee Family Picnic, brought by the Office of Human Resources. Families were treated to popcorn and cotton candy, a dunk tank and dessert competition, and a hula show featuring members of university leadership. The event was held on the West Campus lawn from 3-7 pm.
