In compliance with provisions of the Jeanne Clery Act, the university has developed
an Immediate Notification system. This system is used to notify Azusa Pacific University
students, faculty, and staff if a serious crime, natural disaster, or other emergencies
occur that poses an immediate threat to the university community or a segment of the
campus community. Notifications may be communicated to all Azusa Pacific University
students, faculty, and staff at the main campus in Azusa, regional campuses, and other
APU facilities based in the United States, so that those traveling from one APU location
to another, are aware of the immediate threat. Some of the systems used to convey
Immediate Notifications messages include: The audible Whelan (Public Address) System,
electronic message boards, social media, and a mass-media alert system called Everbridge
that provides messages via text, email, and voicemail.
