Community Relations
Welcome to APU
Community Relations, part of the Division of Strategic Communication and Engagement, represents Azusa Pacific University to the community, and just as importantly, represents the community back to APU. The university remains committed to being a good neighbor. Over the years, APU has joined with school districts, churches, and community stakeholders to enhance quality of life for our neighbors and our students, faculty, and staff. Town-and-gown issues frequently addressed include construction, housing, planning, purchasing, safety, and transportation.
Since moving to the San Gabriel Valley in 1947, Azusa Pacific University has partnered with the city of Azusa to support a community that inspires us all—one with high-quality education programs accessible to all ages, safe streets, and revitalized spaces where people can interact.
Each year, the university unites with city officials, schools, and businesses to participate in events such as Hands Across Azusa, work with local school children through the C.H.A.M.P. program, and build community relationships through the annual Canyon City Classic. Together, we can continue to build upon our heritage in further developing a strong, vibrant community for the future.
Azusa Pacific welcomes the citizens of Azusa and surrounding communities to explore this site for available resources and events as we continue partnering in the enrichment of the city in which we live.
