Program Director, Assistant Professor School of Nursing
Dr. Thurman is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a background in pediatrics, women’s health, internal medicine, and college health. Currently, her practice is at a free and charitable clinic in San Diego serving patients who have no other access to care. She has been in academia since 2006 and is currently the Director of the MSN Programs for both the San Diego and Inland Empire Regional campuses. She is passionate about teaching and serving students. Her goal as an educator is to transform students minds and hearts and help them find their passion in the field of advanced practice nursing. Her academic interest is in the area of food insecurity and educating providers on screening for food insecurity in the clinical setting.
