Dave Harmeyer, EdD, MLS, MAPS, MAST has held the roles of a seminary library director, the chair of APU’s Marshburn Library, and ten years as APU’s associate dean of university libraries. His higher education scholarship covers library expertise in distance education, the reference interview, future libraries, and information literacy.
Dave’s most recent book is Implementing the Information Literacy Framework rounding out an award-winning dissertation on chat reference and his first book - thirteen narratives on the reference interview, originally a quarterly column in the journal the Reference Librarian. Dave is the new (2020) book review editor for the Journal of Religious and Theological Information after serving on the journal’s board as a manuscript reviewer for over ten years.
Dave is the faculty of record for three online APU courses in the Credential and Master’s Degree for the School Librarianship program. He has been librarian liaison for the doctoral nursing programs (DNP and PhD) for over ten years and is currently liaison for education (undergraduate, masters, and doctoral both EdD and PhD) kinesiology (undergraduate and masters), doctoral physical therapy (including the PhD), leadership & organizational psychology (undergraduate and masters) and the department of biology & chemistry (undergraduate and masters in biotechnology).
