Koy Parada, PhD, is a Public Health professional with twenty years combined experience in University-level teaching and directing health programs in academic, community, and industry environments. She has led multi-disciplinary teams of pre-medical and nursing students to collaborate with community-based organizations, government agencies, policy makers, and patient advocates to support Los Angeles-based health initiatives, including student-run homeless clinics, Hepatitis/liver disease screenings, and outreach to immigrant and marginalized communities. She has experience mentoring students to develop, implement, evaluate and procure resources for programs designed to improve the quality of life of individuals, particularly the medically underserved, living with chronic conditions, and currently co-chairs the Health Consortium of the Greater San Gabriel Valley, Hep B Free-Los Angeles, and a number of other health initiatives.
