Min Jung Park, BM, was born in Korea, where she began violin lessons at age 5. She won first prize in the Seoul National Competition at age 11, the first of many such prizes she would capture nationwide during her teens, including a featured appearance on national TV.
After attending the prestigious Seoul National University, she moved to the U.S. to study as a full scholarship student of the renowned violinist Jascha Heifetz and later with Robert Lipsett. As a scholarship student at the Juilliard School, she studied with Dorothy DeLay, Masao Kawasaki, and Glenn Dicterow.
In 1992, as the winner of the Artist International Special Presentation Award, she was presented in her New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, receiving highest critical acclaim. Since then, she has been delighting audiences in the U.S., Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. She has also performed as soloist with the Camerata Orchestra of Los Angeles, High Desert Symphony, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul National Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Busan Philharmonic Orchestra, Seoul Metropolitan Symphony, Planetary Chamber Ensemble, Chungnam Philharmonic, Mokpo Philharmonic, and others.
Park has also been in high demand as a teacher with many of her students going onto successful musical careers including with the Boston Symphony, Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic and others. She has taught at California State University, Los Angeles and has taught and given master classes at Kinhaven Music Festival in Vermont, Tateshina Music Festival in Japan, Eumag Chunchu Music Festival, Yaejin Music Festival and J & R Music School in Korea, Women's University at Taipei in Taiwan, and other festivals.
She has made appearances on the Johnny Yune Show, Classic Odyssey on KBS, KBS radio, TV and radio shows in Taiwan and has also appeared in Noblesse magazine, Strings magazine, The Strad, and other publications.
