Applied Instructor, Bassoon and Contrabassoon

Paul Curtis, bassoon and contrabassoon, is a musician who performs throughout Southern California. He is a member of the San Luis Obispo Symphony. In addition to playing with the San Luis Obispo Symphony, he freelances throughout Southern California, including the L.A. Philharmonic, San Diego Symphony, Pacific Symphony, Los Angeles Opera, and many others. In addition to his orchestral work, Curtis enjoys performing in the pit for musicals at Pantages, The Ahmanson, and Pasadena Playhouse.

Curtis earned his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the USC Thornton School of Music while studying with Judith Farmer and Rose Corrigan. After graduation, he studied with Patricia Kindel.

Curtis enjoys a thriving private bassoon studio, teaching his many students of all age levels.
