Ruth Mielke, PhD, RN, CNM, FACNM, WHNP-BC, is an associate dean and professor at Azusa Pacific University School of Nursing. As a proud APU alumna (PhD, 2010) she is delighted to return to her alma mater! Her most recent academic position was as the program director (2010-20) of the Women’s Health Care Concentration at California State University, Fullerton. Mielke has been awarded numerous state and federal grants to support advanced practice nursing education. She recently completed her role as PI on a HRSA Advanced Nursing Education Workforce grant (1.5M) that expanded women’s health services in a rural health clinic and provided 40+ traineeships to nurse practitioner and midwifery students in underserved and rural areas. In 1991, Mielke founded a nurse-midwifery practice which is the largest full-scope OB-GYN/midwifery practice in Los Angeles where she continues to practice.
