Steps for Admitted International Students
Congratulations on your admission to Azusa Pacific University! We are excited to welcome you to the APU family. Please complete these next steps for you to enroll at the university.
1. I-20 and Admission Letter
An official admission letter will be mailed to you along with an APU I-20 document, indicating which term you are beginning at APU and your conditions for studying, if any. Your immigration document (I-20 or DS2019) will be issued when all immigration requirements are met. Important information is included in the admission packet. Contact your admissions representative if you have any questions.
Your immigration document (I-20 or DS2019) may not be sent along with your admission letter if your financial documents or transfer authorization are not in order.
2. Enrollment Deposit
After you have been admitted to APU, you must submit the enrollment deposit of $300. May 1 is the deposit deadline for fall enrollment and December 1 is the deadline for spring enrollment.
Note: Nursing students are eligible to receive an enrollment deposit refund only until May 1.
3. Before Traveling to the U.S.
With your new I-20 or DS2019 from APU, you can apply for a student visa from the American embassy or consulate in your country. We suggest waiting until you secure your visa before purchasing an airline ticket.
For more information, review the Student Visa and Immigration page.
4. Summer Orientation
Summer Orientation is a chance to reserve classes, take any proficiency tests needed, attend informative workshops, and more for the fall semester. This is a great option for international students who are already in the U.S.
5. Global Student Orientation
International students who are overseas during the summer and those in the U.S. can attend Global Student Orientation, which is held the week before the new term starts. This is an exciting time to learn all about APU and find long-lasting friendships. For more information, find and contact your admissions representative.
6. Tuition Payment and Registration
All international students are required to pay tuition and fees according to the arrangement made between your financial services counselor and you. You must maintain full-time status each semester. For more information, contact the office of International Student Compliance.
7. Forms to Complete
- Immunization Record for Registration (PDF)
- Student ID Cards
- Student Parking Permits/Vehicle Registration
- Transfer-In Authorization Form (PDF) (if transferring from a U.S. institute)
8. Welcome Weekend
Welcome Weekend materials will be sent to you and your parents approximately one month before the semester begins. Be sure to register for Welcome Weekend.
