What is a Badge? (video)
Digital badges recognize an individual’s ongoing community engagement, professional development, and other important accomplishments. In recent years badges have been used to support and enhance faculty members’ professional portfolios.
To that end, the Office of Innovative Teaching and Technology (ITT), part of the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (CTLA), implemented a badging program in 2015. We are using Credly, a leading platform for verifying, sharing, and managing digital badges and credentials. Those individuals who meet established criteria have an opportunity to earn digital badges in recognition of their engagement with our offerings and initiatives.
When faculty members earn, display, and share badges, they help draw attention to their community involvement and professional development experiences.
