Currently information literacy (IL) is defined as “the set of integrated abilities
encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information
is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating
ethically in communities of learning” (Association of College & Research Libraries).
The information literate student:

Information Literacy Module
In order to help facilitate instruction and help supplement IL instruction for students
and faculty, the University Libraries developed a self-paced course and tutorials
titled, “Beyond Google: Foundations of Information Literacy & Research.” Users may
learn at their own pace and may also earn a course badge upon completion of course
modules.
