Student reading a book at the library

Services

Circulation

The APU Libraries have made a number of cooperative agreements to allow APU students, faculty, and staff to borrow materials from other academic and public libraries.

Atla Reciprocal Borrowing Program

The Atla Reciprocal Borrowing Program creates an arrangement between participating Atla Institutional Members and Affiliate Candidate Libraries to grant check-out privileges to each other’s patrons/students. A patron/student walks into a participating library, shows proof of current enrollment at another participating library, and checks out materials based on its local lending policies.

To see which seminaries/libraries are members in this program and closest to you, view a map of participating libraries.

Before a visiting a member library, please view the following spreadsheet of participating libraries that provides an overview of any restrictions/limitations that may be in place for borrowing material at a particular library.

It allows students to visit and borrow materials from participating libraries. Students must show their APU ID card and an IEALC card at the participating library in order to borrow books. This service is not available for faculty and staff. Apply for an IEALC card online.

Course Reserves

Students: Learn how to access Reserve materials.

Faculty: Submit your reserves requests.

Faculty members may request that particular items owned by the University Libraries or their own personal copies of an time be placed reserve for their students. This means that those items will be accessible at the circulation desk and have limited check out periods to ensure the item remains available for other students to use.

Requests to have materials placed on Reserve should be made at least 72 hours before the items are needed so that circulation staff can prepare the materials for use, and at the end of each academic year all materials will be removed from reserve unless other arrangements have been made.

The libraries reserve the right to refuse reserve materials if the nature, scope, or extent of copying is judged to exceed limits of fair use, or if the appropriate permissions are not included.

Reserves are placed in the library of the faculty's choice. Faculty members may submit personal copy materials for reserves, but do so at their own risk. Barcodes and labels are normally placed on personal copies. If you would prefer to not have them placed on personal items, please notify the Circulation Coordinator in advance. All personal reserve materials should be picked up at the end of each semester unless other arrangements have been made in advance with the Circulation Coordinator.

If you have questions about reserves, please contact the Circulation Coordinator by location below:
