Chaffey Joint Union High School Partners with APU to offer Guaranteed Admission and Scholarships

The Chaffey Joint Union High School District (CJUHSD) is partnering with Azusa Pacific University to create a pathway to college for Alta Loma, Chaffey, Chaffey District Online High School, Colony, Etiwanda, Los Osos, Montclair, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Valley View High School students. The CJUHSD Board of Education approved a memorandum of understanding with APU at its August 22, 2017, meeting. This agreement provides CJUHSD high school students who meet admissions requirements with guaranteed admittance to APU, a $10,000 renewable scholarship, application fee waiver, and support with the application process.

“The opportunities and advantages students gain through this new partnership with Azusa Pacific will change students’ lives and our community,” said Superintendent Mathew Holton, Ed.D. “We are committed to working together with APU to provide every district student access to an additional choice for post-secondary education that helps them fulfill their dreams.”

The agreement begins fall 2017 and also includes this year’s graduates who met the program’s academic requirements. Incoming high school freshmen who successfully follow the academic pathway all four years will be eligible. In addition, current sophomores and juniors, who meet the requirements, may pursue this educational option.
