Spring Welcome is your personal introduction to the APU community. This is your opportunity
to receive answers to your spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social questions.
Even if you have had siblings attend APU, you will not want to miss Spring Welcome.
APU is an ever-evolving community that is always developing new information, resources,
opportunities, and policies.
All students, family members, and guests must register for Spring Welcome. Complete the Registration Form.
If you would like to register additional guests after you’ve completed your initial registration, contact admissions@apu.edu or (626) 812-3016.
Incoming students attend for free. Guests are $20 per person.
Children age 10 and under may attend for free.
The Spring Welcome fee covers a variety of components including on-campus meals, a
Spring Welcome T-shirt, campus resources, and activities.
No. Spring Welcome registration is required only for families and guests planning
to participate in the full Spring Welcome program.
Formal programming for parents and families concludes at 6:45 p.m. Friday, January
3. Student programming resumes at 7:30 p.m.

Spring Welcome is required for all new students, including commuter students, and
we offer sessions for various student groups. Review the schedule to plan accordingly. If you have questions about Commuter Life, call (626) 812-3032 or email commuters@apu.edu for further assistance.
All incoming students, including transfer students, are required to attend Spring
Welcome. We offer sessions throughout the day that will help you successfully transition
to APU.
Students’ families and guests are welcome and encouraged to stay at a local hotel.
View a list of local lodging options. If you are a residential student, you can move into your on-campus housing assignment
beginning at 9 a.m. January 3. I you are an athlete, a student employee, or in a music
ensemble, you will receive move-in instructions from those specific departments. You
can also call the Office of Residence Life at (626) 812-3056 for assistance.
Yes, meal tickets can be purchased at time of check-in.
An Alpha Group is a small group of incoming students organized by major and led by
an upper-division student that meets through the first six weeks at APU. You will
have numerous opportunities to meet with your group during Spring Welcome before classes
begin, and this group will be a source of support and community as you navigate your
first semester at APU. Alpha Group assignments will be provided during Spring Welcome
check-in, beginning Friday, January 3r, at Bode Commons.
During Spring Welcome check-in, you’ll receive an APU NetID that will give you access
to the university’s student network services, such as the university portal, library
research resources, and the APU wireless network. Once you arrive on campus, simply
open your preferred internet browser, then log in with the APU NetID you receive at
