Associate Director of Campus Life

Sydney was born and raised in Sacramento, California. She earned a BS in Psychology from Biola University and most recently graduated from APU with an MS in College Counseling and Student Development. Sydney found her love for student affairs while serving as a resident advisor during her time as an undergraduate student, and deepened this passion while serving in campus life and student wellness during her graduate studies. Her free time is spent exploring the area with her husband, Kody, watching movies, drinking coffee, and finding new books to read.

Favorite Verse: Psalms 34:12-18 "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

Favorite Aspect of APU: The community is by far my favorite aspect of APU! This campus has some of the most welcoming and warm people I have ever met, and it isn't just the students, it is the faculty and staff as well. People go out of their way to make genuine connections with the people they meet and are always willing to lend a helping hand. The spirit of the Lord is bright in the people here as well, so you won't just be making fun friends, you'll bond as brothers and sisters in Christ!

Advice for Incoming Students: Get involved on campus! I know that is a daunting task, especially when you're new to the school, but I promise you it is worth it. I too had to make that leap out of my comfort zone, and I have not regretted it for a minute. APU has a lot to offer, I'm certain that no matter your interests or skills, there is a club, department, or something that you'll fit right into!
